Young Woman Shot Twice in the Head in Cancún – Tragic Outcome!

A 19-year-old woman, Belén Margarita C. M., tragically died in hospital after being shot twice in the head in her home. The incident occurred early in the morning, and despite immediate medical attention, she passed away later in the afternoon. Belén, who earned her living by selling sweets, was rushed to the General Hospital where she was diagnosed with brain death and sadly died at 4:37 p.m.

The initial investigation into the attack suggests that Belén was in her home in a boarding house located in superblock 230, near Leona Vicario Avenue. At approximately 12:14 a.m., two men arrived on a motorcycle. One of the men entered the boarding house and proceeded to Belén's residence. Upon entering, he shot her twice in the head through an open door. Both bullets hit Belén on the left side of her forehead, penetrating her skull and causing severe cranial trauma and significant blood loss.

The sound of the gunshots alerted other tenants, who promptly called the 911 emergency service, triggering a Red Code response. Paramedics from a private company arrived shortly after to provide first aid before transferring her to the General Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators and forensic specialists from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) were dispatched to the crime scene for initial inquiries. Sadly, Belén later succumbed to her injuries. Her body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for a legally required autopsy. Her family is expected to claim her body in the coming hours.
