In an unexpected turn of events, 25 bricks of cocaine, colloquially known as 'white gold', were discovered washed ashore at Punta Sur Beach, near Akumal Bay. The bricks were found during a routine patrol by the National Guard, who were assigned to maintain security along the coastline of the city of Tulum.
The discovery was made in the vicinity of the Casa Kukulcan, a well-known establishment situated at kilometer 252 of the Tulum-Playa del Carmen federal section, in the area known as Punta Sur. The National Guard found a white sack, tied with a green string, containing a black plastic bag.
Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain 25 transparent plastic packages filled with white powder, believed to be cocaine. Each package was marked with an image resembling a Bluetooth symbol.
The packages were promptly collected and handed over to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, based in Playa del Carmen, for further investigation.
