In a significant blow to organized crime, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo and the National Guard have rescued 29 women from a human trafficking operation in a bar in Solidaridad. The operation also resulted in the arrest of a man wanted for sexual abuse in the state of Chihuahua.
The successful operation, coordinated with the Investigation Police and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Trafficking in Persons Crimes, exposed an international human trafficking network. The victims, both Mexican and foreign, were lured with false promises and then forced into sexual services under threats and coercion. The State Attorney General's Office reports that 19 of the rescued women are foreign, while 10 are Mexican.
The arrested man, identified as Julio Alejandro "N" from Chihuahua, will now face justice for his crimes. Authorities are continuing investigations to fully dismantle this criminal network and ensure the safety of the rescued victims. This joint action underscores the commitment of the authorities in combating human trafficking.
On May 31, in collaboration with the International Organization O. U. R. Rescue, the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office and the National Guard rescued 25 women who were potential victims of labor and sexual exploitation. During this operation, the leader of a human trafficking gang in Solidaridad was also apprehended. These actions were part of a series of searches conducted in five bars in Solidaridad, following the rescue of 17 Argentine women from a bar in the same municipality on May 17. During these operations, authorities also managed to arrest another individual, Enrique Abelardo "N".
