Man Survives Playa del Carmen Shooting, Aids in Suspects’ Arrest

Three individuals in custody flanked by law enforcement officers, with a display of a confiscated handgun, ammunition, and packages underneath them presumably containing illicit substances or materials.

In an unexpected turn of events, a man in Playa del Carmen survived a shooting and, despite his injuries, assisted the police in capturing the perpetrators. This led to the arrest of three individuals from Tabasco and Chiapas, as well as the confiscation of a firearm and ammunition. All evidence will be turned over to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.

The incident began in the Las Torres neighborhood when locals reported a shooting to emergency services. Upon arrival, the police discovered a man who had been shot. Despite his serious injuries, he courageously identified his attackers, leading to a rapid police response.

Within minutes, the police apprehended Bernabé "N" (29 years old) and Santiago "N" (22 years old), both from Tabasco, and Miguel "N" (48 years old) from Chiapas. The authorities also seized a firearm, a spent shell, 16 rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the escape.

The detainees are now in the custody of the State Attorney General's Office, facing charges of attempted murder. The victim was transported to a hospital and is now in stable condition. The Prosecutor's Office will carry out ballistics tests on the seized firearm to identify which of the three suspects fired the weapon. These tests will compare the recovered shells and projectiles with the confiscated firearm, helping to accurately identify the shooter and build a stronger case against them.
