The 16th annual Symbiosis Water Rally was held at Ventura Park in Cancun with the participation of 20 teams. Each team consisted of young people aged 16 and above, accompanied by an adult. The event, organized by AGUAKAN, aims to educate students about the importance of water conservation.
The rally took place on Friday, November 15, and saw the Ixchel team, made up of Cancun students, emerge as the winners. The teams competed at 20 stations, testing their physical skills and environmental knowledge through fun, educational activities.
The second place was claimed by the Vip Galaxias team, also from Cancun, while the third spot was taken by the Alfa Maravilla Buena Onda team.
The opening ceremony was attended by Alejandra Mayorga, Community Relations Coordinator, Paul Rangel, General Director of Aguakan, and Nayeli Guarda Ramos, a laptop sponsor. They all emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation about water conservation and environmental preservation.
Mayorga stated, "Our social responsibility program primarily focuses on environmental education and water culture. We prioritize younger generations as they are the future stewards of our planet. Therefore, we believe it's crucial to continue activities like the Water Rally that serve this purpose."
The competition saw over 100 participants from Benito Juarez, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Isla Mujeres, where AGUAKAN operates. The event was also supported by Ventura Park Cancun, the National Water Commission (Conagua), The Dolphin Company, and the MIA Hotel Foundation, among others.
As a socially responsible company, AGUAKAN has been promoting the preservation of water and natural resources for over 16 years. The Water Rally is one of the many initiatives aimed at raising awareness and encouraging sustainable actions within the community.
