In the lead up to the Holy Cross of Sabán celebrations taking place from April 28 to May 3 in the village of El Cedral, a traffic operation will be implemented to secure the perimeter road and village entrances. This operation is a joint effort by the Traffic sub-directorate, the Secretary of the Navy, the National Guard, and the Secretary of Public Security.

The traffic and safety measures will commence at 04:00 hours on Sunday, April 28, and will continue throughout the day's festivities. Control filters will be activated on the perimeter road, the bike path known as the old road at Playa Corona, and at the village entrance. There will also be assistance and control measures for drivers on the streets of El Cedral.

The aim of these measures is to ensure safe roads and reduce vehicle congestion during the celebrations. The bike path will be open in both directions exclusively for motorcycles and bicycles. The northbound lane will be for access to hotels and the village of El Cedral, while the southbound lane will be for those returning to the city.

Drivers are encouraged to travel safely to El Cedral, avoiding speeding and the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Any driver found to be under the influence will be stopped and required to find a sober companion to take over driving. If this is not possible, the vehicle will be impounded to ensure the driver's safety. It should be noted that fines for driving under the influence of alcohol can range between two and three thousand pesos.
