Two men have been sentenced to 31 years and three months in prison for their involvement in a deadly attack on a bar in Cancún. The men, known only as Julio “N” and José Francisco “N”, were convicted of aggravated murder against a victim whose identity has been kept confidential.
The attack occurred in the early hours of March 26, 2021, at the Ginza Bar on Bonampak Avenue in the Supermanzana 3 district of Cancún. Five people outside the bar were injured in the incident, one of whom later died in a local public hospital.
Following a review of the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the presiding judge handed down the sentences. In addition to their prison terms, the convicted men were ordered to pay a fine of 168,037 pesos and 5 cents, and to compensate for material damages amounting to 623,499 pesos and 20 cents.
