Yucatan Governor, Joaquin Diaz Mena, has confirmed that there will be no new taxes or increases to existing ones in the state by 2025. This announcement was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council of the Budget and Expenditure and Expenditure Exercise of the Government.

The governor stressed that the 2025 Revenue Law project is designed to prioritize the economic stability of families in Yucatan. It also aims to ensure increased resources for key sectors including women, youth, agriculture, and fishing.

In addition, the Yucatan 2025 economic budget will allocate funds for the expansion of the high-altitude port of Progress. This proposal aims to promote infrastructure that supports orderly and sustainable territorial development, addressing urbanization needs and environmental concerns.

Governor Mena emphasized that each investment is intended to reduce historical inequalities, aligning with the social justice approach championed by President Claudia Sheinbaum. He stated, "Yucatan must not only grow economically, but do so in a way that this growth reaches everyone. Every peso invested will aim to build a state where no one is left behind."
