The Zamna Tulum Foundation AC and the Tulum City Council are joining forces to celebrate the richness of Mayan culture. They are inviting the public to a special event at the Main Terminal of Tulum International Airport on Saturday, December 21st. The event, dubbed "Jungle Airport", will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, offering a range of cultural experiences for locals and tourists alike.
The program includes a showcase of local crafts, offering attendees the chance to admire and purchase unique pieces made by regional artisans. There will also be a screening of a promotional video that highlights the historical and cultural richness of the Mayan world. Traditional pre-Hispanic prayers and ceremonies will be conducted, allowing participants to connect with the spiritual heritage of the Mayan culture.
The event will also feature regional cuisine and poetic traditions, inviting attendees to savor the flavors and artistic expressions that define the area. The timing of the event has been strategically planned to coincide with the arrival of flights from key locations such as Detroit, Miami, Houston, Canada, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. This gives visitors the opportunity to immediately immerse themselves in the cultural roots of Tulum upon their arrival.
Diego Castañón Trejo, the municipal president of Tulum, stressed the importance of such initiatives in establishing the municipality as a cosmopolitan destination that maintains its cultural identity. He also noted the positive effects these activities have on Mayan communities, encouraging support through initiatives like the "Made in Tulum" brand.
The Zamna Tulum Foundation restated its dedication to preserving the Mayan legacy, emphasizing the value of promoting cultural pride and fostering connections between tourists and locals. The event is free and open to all, providing a unique chance to learn about and celebrate one of Mexico's most iconic cultures.
