Grupo Xcaret, a major player in the business sector of Solidaridad, is throwing its weight behind efforts to rejuvenate the image of Playa del Carmen. Carlos Constandse, a founding partner of the group, has publicly endorsed the city's new brand project.
Constandse praised the initiative, stating, "This is a fantastic project with great potential. We all need to come together to make it a reality and incorporate it into our operations."
The new city brand includes several partnerships and initiatives aimed at promoting tourism. An agreement with transportation company ADO aims to boost tourism via land transport. Various tourist routes will be highlighted, and a new portal, Let's Playa, has been launched. The city's main street, Quinta Avenue, was adorned with various structures over the Christmas season, providing photo opportunities for visitors.
Constandse emphasized the unique appeal of each municipality in the state, saying, "Every municipality has its own natural wealth. Those of us developing here in Playa del Carmen are promoting this unique factor. Cancún, Tulum, each has its own image and richness in terms of culture, gastronomy, and concept."
He also highlighted Grupo Xcaret's recent accolade, a Michelin star for their restaurant Ha`. Constandse reminded the public that the restaurant is open to all and encouraged locals to visit. He also expressed optimism for the future, predicting a significant boost in tourism by 2025.
"The Michelin star is a door opener. It's a globally recognized brand, and many people seek out restaurants with this distinction. Since we announced our star, the restaurant's capacity has increased," he said.
