Solidaridad Announces Discounts on Property Tax and Key Investments for 2025
Estefanía Mercado, Municipal President of Solidaridad, has unveiled a series of financial incentives and major budgetary investments aimed at supporting families and fostering economic growth in 2025. Key measures include significant discounts on property tax payments and strategic funding for public services and infrastructure projects.
Property Tax Discounts to Ease Financial Burden
To support local families, the Solidaridad municipality is offering property tax discounts for early payments in 2025. From January 1 to 15, taxpayers can receive a 25% discount, followed by 20% from January 16 to 31, and 15% throughout February.
Special provisions apply to pensioners, retirees, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities, who will benefit from a 50% discount on one primary residence, provided its value does not exceed 25,000 U.M.A. This special discount extends through the end of June.
Business owners renewing operational licenses in January and February can also take advantage of a 10% discount on annual waste collection fees.
Mercado emphasized that timely contributions from residents enable the municipality to invest in essential public works and services, stating, “It’s money from the people that goes back to the people.”
Record Budget Focused on Security and Urban Transformation
The municipal budget for 2025, approved during the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the Cabildo, totals 4.3 billion pesos, reflecting Solidaridad’s commitment to peace, economic development, and urban renewal.
- Security Investment: A total of 797 million pesos will bolster public safety through enhanced police training, better equipment, and sufficient resources to protect the community.
- Youth and Sports: Funding for youth development and sports facilities will triple, reaching 120 million pesos to create opportunities and promote positive engagement among Solidaridad’s younger population.
- Women and Culture: Resources allocated for women’s services and cultural programs will nearly double to 25 million pesos, fostering community and empowering women.
- Sustainable Tourism: The tourism budget will rise significantly, from 8 million to 100 million pesos, marking a shift toward sustainable, inclusive tourism that boosts local economic growth.
- Public Works: With an allocation of 900 million pesos, the municipality will construct parks, rehabilitate streets and public lighting, and develop shared spaces to enhance residents’ quality of life.
New Economic Activation Program
The Cabildo also approved a new social initiative, the “Economic and Commercial Activation Program,” aimed at small business owners. This program will provide special operational licenses to qualified individuals, encouraging entrepreneurship and economic recovery.
