As the 2024 hurricane season approaches, Cancún is set to open a unique hurricane shelter that accommodates pets. This innovative initiative is the first of its kind in Quintana Roo.

The Benito Juárez City Council has revealed that the shelter will be housed at the Ek Balam Primary School in Supermanzana 247. The facility is designed to accommodate up to 67 people and 50 pets, including dogs and cats.
