Quintana Roo Governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, recently visited the Health Caravans stationed at the “Toro Valenzuela” stadium's parking lot. From January 6th to 8th, these caravans have been providing medical services to individuals in need. During her visit, Governor Lezama interacted with the attendees, reaffirming her administration's commitment to offering free, high-quality healthcare across the state through the "Health for All" initiative.
While on her tour, Governor Lezama took the opportunity to celebrate Three Kings Day with the families present. She participated in the traditional king cake cutting and distributed toys and gifts to the children. This initiative is part of the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, which aims to ensure social justice and prosperity for all residents across the state's 11 municipalities. The focus is on prioritizing people's health in a government that combines humanistic and feminist principles.
From January 6th to 10th, Mobile Medical Caravans have been serving communities in Cancun, Leona Vicario, Nuevo Bécar, and Dziuché, located in the municipalities of Puerto Morelos, Othón P. Blanco, and José María Morelos respectively. The Secretary of Health, Flavio Carlos Rosado, revealed that since December 12th, 2023, these caravans have provided over 400,000 medical services. This model has been crucial in early disease detection and providing timely care to those in need.
In addition to general and specialized medical consultations, the caravans also administered Influenza, COVID-19, and Tetanus vaccines as part of their health prevention strategies during this week. It was further announced that from January 13th to 17th, the Mobile Medical Caravans will extend their services to the communities of Tihosuco in Felipe Carrillo Puerto; Jesús González Ortega, in Othón P. Blanco; and San Ángel in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, thereby expanding the program's reach.
