A man's decomposed body, wrapped in plastic, was discovered on the side of Federal Highway 307, near the Gran Bahía Príncipe hotel complex. This grim discovery marks the third body found in Tulum in less than 24 hours, sparking concerns about escalating insecurity in the region.
The body was found at midnight on Monday by passersby who promptly alerted emergency services. Municipal police and forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office were quickly on the scene to begin initial investigations and remove the body.
Authorities confirmed the body was male, but his identity and the circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown. The area was cordoned off while forensic teams conducted their initial investigations.
