The only women's sport fishing tournament in Mexico following catch and release rules, La Diosa del Mar, has announced its date for the 2025 edition. The event has made substantial progress in its organization and is slated to occur in July.

The eighth edition of La Diosa del Mar Sport Fishing Tournament is set to take place on July 11 and 12, 2025, in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo. This unique event is the only one of its kind in Mexico, dedicated to women and operating under catch and release principles.

The previous year's champions, Las Licenciadas from Cancún, made a remarkable impression at the La Diosa del Mar Tournament in Puerto Morelos 2024.

The organizing committee extended an open invitation on social media, encouraging teams of four anglers to participate. They promised a unique experience in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, where the sea and celebration meet to honor incredible women.

La Diosa del Mar Sport Fishing Tournament 2025 is not just about competition; it also emphasizes responsible fishing. The organization proudly stated, "We are the only women's fishing tournament in Mexico that operates under catch & release rules." This approach is crucial as it promotes the conservation of marine species, helps maintain the balance of the marine ecosystem, and encourages sustainable sport fishing for future generations.

At La Diosa del Mar, the celebration goes beyond sport fishing. The event also respects and protects the wealth of the seas. The enthusiastic organizer, Karla Luna, invites everyone to join this unique experience designed by women, for women, combining adventure, fun, and environmental awareness.
