A family of tourists have reported a series of disturbing incidents at the Riu Caribe hotel in Cancún, involving both the hotel's security staff and the local Tourist Police. The family alleges they were subjected to authority abuse, physical attacks, theft, threats, and inappropriate behavior on the night of January 25, 2025.

The family's ordeal reportedly began with a misunderstanding with the hotel's security staff. The situation rapidly escalated, with both the hotel's security and the Tourist Police allegedly using excessive force. The family claims they were physically assaulted, had their belongings stolen, were inappropriately touched, received death threats, and were detained in the Tourist Police's holding cells.

In the aftermath of these incidents, the family attempted to lodge a complaint with the Public Ministry. However, they claim they were met with further mistreatment from officials. They also tried to negotiate a refund for their stay with the manager of the Riu Palace Península hotel, but were instead evicted without a refund.

The family is now seeking justice and support, providing photos, videos, and documents as evidence of the alleged incidents.
