Van Rollover Injures Three Near Playa del Carmen

Three individuals were injured in a traffic accident on the federal route between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos, near the Nickelodeon hotel, this past Thursday. The incident occurred when a van rolled over after swerving to avoid another vehicle that had abruptly braked to prevent a collision with a helicopter-transporting trailer.

The sequence of events began when a municipal police patrol halted the trailer in the travel lane, disrupting the flow of traffic. In response to this sudden stop, a van traveling at high speed was forced to brake sharply. This sudden action led to a second van swerving to avoid a collision, resulting in a rollover.

Authorities reported that of the three injured individuals, two potentially suffered fractures, while the third sustained minor injuries. Following the accident, the trailer and police officers vacated the scene, leaving the area in disarray due to the incident's aftermath.
