A fatal motorcycle accident has recently taken place in Cancún. A male rider lost his life in the crash, while a female passenger sustained injuries and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.
The accident occurred on the evening of Friday, January 31. The pair were riding on a red and white automatic motorcycle with the license plate 33AXY6. They collided with the rear of a parked Nissan pickup truck on José López Portillo Avenue, near the Avante neighborhood in Cancún. Initial reports suggest that the motorcycle was traveling at high speed at the time of the accident.
Upon confirmation of the rider's death, local traffic authorities and forensic doctors from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) arrived at the scene. The deceased was transported to the morgue for an autopsy, while the injured woman was taken to a hospital by paramedics. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
CALL TO IDENTIFY INJURED WOMAN'S FAMILY
Witnesses to the tragic event have shared images of the injured woman on social media, in an attempt to notify her relatives about the incident. One individual wrote, "Please, if anyone knows her, she just had a severe accident before Coca," in a social media post.
Motorcyclists in Cancún are continually urged to exercise caution while on the road to prevent such fatal accidents.
