The environmental group, Sélvame del Tren, has raised concerns about the construction of a road in Tulum, which is being built without the necessary environmental impact permits. The group warns that this could pose a significant threat to the local ecosystem.

José Urbina Bravo, the founder of Sélvame del Tren, has been vocal about the potential damage this construction could cause. He explains that the road's construction is a clear example of the harmful developments that can occur as a result of the train project in the area.

He said, "This is one of the consequences we initially warned about. The train project is encouraging a large number of harmful developments. This road is one such example and serves as proof. The surrounding area is in serious danger due to interests in real estate speculation."

The controversial road is being built in Bahía Solimán, Tulum, an area already known for environmental damage. The road begins in the west and, according to Urbina Bravo, is intended to connect the Maya Train with the Cobá-Tulum highway.

He added, "We warned about the creation of roads, especially for transporting materials. This road didn't exist a few months ago and is being built near these cenotes, in the middle of the jungle. We've been told it will connect the highway with Cobá, putting an already endangered jungle cluster at further risk."
