A 12-year-old boy has gone missing in Cancún, leading to a city-wide search by various police departments. The boy was last seen at the José Peón Contreras School in Region 229, where he was waiting to be picked up by his parents, supposedly under the supervision of the school's staff.

According to the school, staff members noticed the boy's absence when they found his belongings scattered near the school's exit. This discovery prompted an immediate search within the school. However, when they failed to locate him, they alerted his family and local authorities.

The missing boy is named Amir Pérez Hernández. Authorities have already conducted searches with his mother at several shopping malls in the area, following tips from citizens who claimed to have spotted him at various locations throughout the city. Unfortunately, these leads have yet to yield any positive results.

In a separate incident, a department secretariat member, while driving a van, narrowly avoided hitting bystanders, including press members covering the story.
