Drug Lord “El Max” Busted in Quintana Roo Raid

A legal notice regarding the detainment of a man named Samuel Esteban, with logo of Fiscalía General de Quintana Roo, and a statement of presumed innocence under the law.

In Quintana Roo, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has apprehended six men suspected of drug trafficking crimes. Among those arrested is Samuel Esteban N., also known as "El Max" or "El Troyano", who is a high-priority target on the Quintana Roo Crime Atlas.

The suspects were observed exchanging small bags of a dried green substance, believed to be marijuana, and a white powder resembling cocaine. Authorities also seized a car and a motorcycle from the group. It is believed that the group includes drug dealers and hitmen affiliated with a criminal organization that is a major source of violence in Tulum.

Samuel Esteban N., alias "El Max" or "El Troyano", was found in possession of a 9-millimeter firearm with a loaded magazine. He is wanted for the crime of homicide against a man and is also suspected of involvement in the murder of two men. These victims were abducted from a house in the Aldea Tulum housing complex on the morning of January 20th of this year. Both victims were members of a rival criminal gang.

The arrested individuals, along with the confiscated evidence, have been turned over to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Drug Trafficking. Their legal status is currently being determined.
