The national ranking has revealed that Quintana Roo will be represented by a strong and diverse weightlifting team at the CONADE Nationals 2024. A total of 57 athletes, including 30 women and 27 men, will compete in the final phase of the competition in Campeche.
The team is drawn from all nine municipalities of the state, marking the first time weightlifters from Isla Mujeres and Puerto Morelos have been included. The team is comprised of 22 athletes who qualified directly in the Macro Regional elimination, and an additional 35 athletes who were selected based on their ranking, bringing the total to 57.
In preparation for the competition, the team will undergo two training sessions in Chetumal on May 11-12 and 25-26. These sessions will be overseen by state coaches who will assess the athletes' progress and make any necessary competitive adjustments.
The men's team includes notable athletes such as Herseleid Carrazco, Joseph Canto, and Zaid Torres. The women's team features talents like Alejandra Canto, Paola Chan, and Lizett Ku, among others.
With this strong and motivated team, Quintana Roo is set to make a significant impact at the CONADE Nationals 2024. This event will showcase the ongoing growth and development of weightlifting in the region.
