A man was discovered dead at a construction site near the Maya Train project bridge in Playa del Carmen. His coworkers found his body hanging from a beam in the community of San Carlos, located in the town of Puerto Aventuras, just 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen.
The construction site is situated behind the Xpu-Há area, close to the Maya Train project bridge. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been disclosed. Upon noticing his absence, his coworkers initiated a search, leading to the grim discovery of their colleague's body.
Upon finding the body, the workers immediately contacted the authorities. Upon arrival, the authorities confirmed that the man had been dead for several hours. The State Attorney General's office then cordoned off the area, removed the body, and commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
This incident near the Maya Train project is the third of its kind to occur this week in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. On Tuesday, 11th, another body was found near the Maya Train, this one partially burned, in the settlement known as Nuevo Noh Bec.
Earlier in the week, on Monday, 10th, a young man's body was discovered floating in the sea at Playa del Carmen. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Carlos Alberto, a Mexican resident in the United States. He was studying architecture and design at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of his drowning and have reached out to his family to offer support and assistance.
