The Isla Mujeres City Council, led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, warmly invites all families from Ciudad Mujeres to partake in the 2025 Carnival festivities. The event is set to take place from February 21 to 23 at the Ejidatarios Plaza and main streets of the Mainland Zone.
The Carnival kicks off on Friday, February 21 with the highly anticipated "Coronation Gala". This ceremony, which begins at 7:00 PM, will see the outgoing 2024 Carnival Kings and Queens pass the torch to the newly crowned sovereigns of the 2025 edition.
The evening promises to be vibrant and energetic with performances from various troupes and a spectacular Caribbean show. The highlight of the night will be a star performance by "Los Méndez de Pilón". On Saturday, February 22, the Carnival Parade will bring the streets of Ciudad Mujeres alive with rhythm and enthusiasm. The procession will start at 5:00 PM at the Full Gas petrol station on Rancho Viejo Avenue and is expected to reach Ejidatarios Plaza around 6:30 PM.
The "Fire Night" show will keep the excitement going into the evening. Starting at 7:00 PM at Ejidatarios Plaza, attendees will be treated to a fire show, costume contests, troupes, and a special presentation by the 2025 Carnival Kings and Queens. The night will conclude with live music from "Master Kumbia", guaranteed to get everyone on their feet.
On Sunday, February 23, the celebrations continue with a second Carnival Parade, beginning once again at the Full Gas petrol station at 7:30 PM. The parade will end at the Ejidatarios Plaza. Later, from 7:00 PM, the eagerly awaited "Water Night" will commence. This family-friendly event will feature a fun children's show, a children's costume contest, water and air shows, and the participation of the 2025 Carnival's Child Kings and Queens.
The evening will conclude with a star performance by "Paleto, the voice of cumbia", who will delight attendees with his best hits. The Isla Mujeres Government encourages the entire community to join in these festivities and immerse themselves in a Carnival filled with joy, culture, and tradition.
