The State Committee of the Agricultural and Forest Fires Prevention and Combat Program 2025 recently unveiled the agricultural burning schedule for this year. The announcement was made by Freddy Domínguez Aké, who presented the schedule in both the Mayan language and Spanish. The schedule is designed to help Yucatecan farmers clear their cornfields and prepare their lands for the upcoming planting season.

The schedule divides the region into four zones, each with a specific burning period. Zone 1, which includes 30 municipalities in the south and east of the state, has a burning period from March 1st to April 15th. Zone 2, comprising 51 municipalities in the state's center and north, has a burning period from April 20th to May 31st. Zones 3 and 4 also have designated burning periods and assigned municipalities.

In case of any incidents, the public is advised to call 911. Fire stations will be strategically located across various locations to respond to reports and provide assistance in case of disasters.
