The Azteca Stadium's renovation for the 2026 World Cup is progressing smoothly. Emilio Azcárraga Jean, president of the Ollamani Council, which oversees Club América, stated that the estimated investment for the project is 1.03 billion pesos. However, he noted that this figure might fluctuate in the coming months.

"The total cost is currently subject to change as we are still finalizing many aspects of the project, such as finishes and seating arrangements, which could cause variations in the budget," Azcárraga Jean explained.

The renovation of the Azteca Stadium commenced in May 2024, and it is set to host the opening match of the 2026 World Cup on June 11 of that year.

According to a financial report from Ollamani, 472.9 million pesos had been spent on the project as of December 2024, with an additional 1.03 billion pesos expected to be invested over the next two years.
