The Tulum branch of the Mexican Red Cross is upgrading its services with the backing of all sectors, according to its new director, Isabel Menocal Solórzano. She revealed that a new medical consultation shift has been introduced since February 15, extending service hours from 7 AM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday.

"I recently assumed leadership of this branch and I see immense potential. We are capable of fulfilling the Red Cross's mission, which is to provide aid. The response from the business community has been outstanding. There are tasks to be accomplished, but there is also a strong will to complete them," she stated.

Menocal Solórzano added that as they garner more support from the business sector and secure additional resources, they plan to open consultations during nighttime hours and on weekends. She also mentioned that starting February 25, first aid courses will be offered every Monday at the Red Cross facility, located on Cobá Avenue, towards the coastal area.

The courses will cost 750 pesos per participant. The director encouraged the public and private sectors to take advantage of their services and training, which have limited availability. For information regarding transfers, training, and emergency reports, contact can be made through calls and WhatsApp at 9841793960.

The director confirmed that the free ambulance service for emergencies will continue, which is coordinated with 911 reports. The Tulum branch employs six individuals in the medical, relief, and training sectors, and operates one ambulance with plans to add another for emergency services.

Menocal Solórzano also announced that the annual Red Cross collection will commence in the coming weeks, but fundraising efforts are ongoing. She reiterated the appeal to the public to support the noble causes of the institution in various ways.

"We are all the Red Cross. For those in need of help, the Red Cross is there. For those who wish to help, the Red Cross is there to facilitate that support, especially in emergencies," she concluded.
