Atenea Gómez, the mayor of Isla Mujeres, presided over the grand Coronation Gala, marking the start of the Isla Mujeres Carnival 2025 in the mainland area. "We are not only transforming Women's City with projects that enhance the quality of life for families, but also fostering culture and traditions," said Gómez.

The vibrant evening commenced with a tribute to the outgoing carnival royalty: Rita I and Catalino I in the Senior category; Frida I and Pablo I, the Child Kings; and Citlalli I and Luis I, the reigning monarchs of Carnival 2024. Gómez then crowned the new Kings of Carnival 2025. The titles were bestowed upon Ángel Patricio Heredia, the Child King, and Yaretzi Yamilet Ramón, the Child Queen. In the Senior category, Teresita de Jesús Coral and Eduardo Toledo were honored.

Cielo del Rosario Chulim was named Queen of Joy, while the new rulers of the Women's City Carnival 2025 are Roger Jesús Baqueiro and María Fernanda Canales. The evening also featured a Caribbean show and performances by the Queens and Kings of the Women's City Carnival, who entertained the audience with their talent and enthusiasm.

The event concluded with a performance by Los Méndez de Pilón, who had attendees dancing to their popular songs like Mi Carrito, El Pavo Tite, Coconut Water, and Summer Night.

The traditional Carnival Parade is scheduled for Saturday, February 22. It will travel along the iconic Rancho Viejo Avenue, starting from the Full Gas station at 5:30 p.m. and ending at Ejidatarios Square. There, the Night of Fire will kick off, thrilling attendees with shows, parade presentations, and the music of Máster Kumbia.

The Municipal Government is using these carnival celebrations to strengthen community bonds and invites all families to join in this grand celebration, a symbol of unity and joy.
