The event promises a lively atmosphere with music, dance, and celebration. The election will take place in Plaza 28 de Julio and will include categories for free, youth, children, and sexual diversity.

Deyanira Martínez Estrada, Secretary of Social Justice and Citizen Participation, who is responsible for organizing the event, has reported an excellent response to the call for candidates. So far, 21 candidates have registered to compete for the titles of queens and kings. The competition will kick off at 6:00 PM, with each candidate participating with their respective troupes.

The jury for the event comprises experienced personalities, including artists from Cirque Du Soleil. They will be assessing the candidates on various aspects such as choreography, creativity, body expression, originality, attitude, outfit, popularity, rhythm, and charm.

The winners from each category will be crowned by Municipal President Estefanía Mercado on February 26, marking the start of the carnival festivities. The crowning will follow a grand parade of troupes and floats down Quinta Avenida, Constituyentes Avenue, Avenue 30, Juárez and 10, leading up to Plaza 28 de Julio.

The carnival, which will also take place in the alternative venue of Puerto Aventuras, is expected to feature at least 25 bands. The event promises a festive atmosphere and a lot of fun for all attendees.
