Puerto Morelos is all set to host the 2025 Carnaval, titled “In Rhythm of the Reef: Music and Underwater Life”. The event, which promises a family-friendly atmosphere filled with color, music, and fun, will run from Friday, February 21st to Monday, February 24th. Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz is enthusiastic about the Carnaval, which has been designed to uphold local traditions and provide high-quality entertainment for all families in the municipality. “We invite everyone to join us in celebrating our traditional 2025 Carnaval. We look forward to welcoming both our local families and visitors,” she said.
The festivities will begin on Friday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Nicolás “Zurdo” Estrella baseball field in the Pescadores neighborhood. The event will start with the crowning of the Carnaval Kings, Carlos Enrique Povedano Concha and María José Vegovi Vera. The evening, hosted by “The Compadres,” Chucho Robles and Alex Yáñez, will feature performances by Group Marea, comedian La Tía Chayo, and the Matizze show.
On Saturday, February 22, the much-anticipated dance troupes contest will begin at 7:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with a spectacular performance from the band “El Recodo” of Cruz Lizárraga, alternating with “La Poderosa”. The event will be hosted by Alex Yáñez and Gi Britos.
Sunday, February 23 will see the parade and allegorical car contest starting from the “Isaac Hamui” sports center at 5:00 p.m. Later, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a musical performance by Ann Araujo and a special appearance by “La Sonora Dinamita” at the baseball field.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, February 24, with the Award Night starting at 7:00 p.m. at the same venue. “The Compadres” will host the event, which will feature a performance from Paleto, “The Voice of Cumbia”. Prepare to immerse yourself in four days of music, dance, and tradition at the 2025 Carnaval of Puerto Morelos!
