More than a hundred elderly and vulnerable individuals in Puerto Aventuras have received food aid, distributed by DIF Solidaridad at the local Senior Citizen's Home. Jesús Góngora, representing the Director of Social Assistance, Eduardo Asencio, led the grocery delivery and confirmed that this support will be provided on a monthly basis to ensure food security for the recipients.

Góngora emphasized that the municipal president and the president of DIF are fulfilling their promise to provide consistent food aid and to rejuvenate the Senior Citizen's Home. The aim is to create a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous environment for all.

Brenda Cuxim, DIF Liaison Coordinator, and Felipa Pat, Community Development Coordinator, were also present at the event. They stressed the significance of this program in enhancing the quality of life for the most vulnerable residents of Solidaridad. Alongside the provision of groceries, DIF Solidaridad is also focusing on revitalizing the Senior Citizen's Home, a crucial venue for promoting the social, physical, and emotional wellbeing of the elderly in the community.

The center plans to offer a variety of recreational activities and support programs designed to improve the quality of life for its members, fostering a sense of community and wellbeing. To qualify for the food assistance program, interested parties must register at the DIF Liaison office with the following documents:

  • Copy of INE
  • CURP
  • Proof of Address
  • INAPAM ID (for elderly)

People with disabilities should also present:

  • Medical Certificate of Disability
  • CURP
  • Proof of Address

These documents are necessary for maintaining accurate records and ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most. This initiative is part of DIF Solidaridad's strategy to consistently provide food aid to the most vulnerable sectors of the municipality.

The municipal government is committed to extending these programs to more communities, ensuring access to basic food and social spaces for the elderly and those in vulnerable situations.

The delivery of this aid demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the municipal administration and DIF Solidaridad to the wellbeing of its citizens, fostering social inclusion and community development. DIF Solidaridad encourages anyone interested in registering for the food aid program to contact the DIF Liaison offices for more information and to join this beneficial program aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Solidaridad.
