In Cancún's 23rd market district, a local businessman was tragically killed on Monday afternoon. The victim, known for selling esoteric items, was reportedly shot around 5:20 pm. The incident was promptly reported to emergency services.

Upon receiving the distress call, Cancún's Municipal Police officers were dispatched to the crime scene. They quickly secured the area and began their investigations. Among the evidence found at the scene were discharged bullet casings and an abandoned motorcycle.

Private company paramedics arrived shortly after and confirmed the man's death, noting the absence of vital signs. It was also reported that a woman, believed to be the victim's wife, was present at the scene. She was found in a state of distress, her clothes stained with her husband's blood.

Eyewitnesses reported that two individuals arrived at the scene on a black Pulsar brand motorcycle. After dismounting, they approached the victim and fired seven shots at him. The assailants then fled, leaving their vehicle behind.

The Forensic Services Unit of the Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo (FGEQROO) was also present at the scene. They collected further evidence and arranged for the victim's body to be transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for an official autopsy.

As of now, the motive for the crime remains unclear. The perpetrators have yet to be identified or apprehended.
