Puerto Morelos is gearing up for its 3rd annual Taco Festival, following the recent success of the 4th Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival in Bacalar. The Taco Festival will take place on Saturday, March 15th, as part of the “El Faro” Handicraft and Gastronomic Pavilion event. Raul Guadarrama Garcia, the municipal secretary of Sustainable Tourism, stated that the festival has become a significant event for the tourist destination. He described it as a celebration of flavors, enhanced by the music and traditions of Puerto Morelos.
The festival will kick off at 4 p.m. at Parque Fundadores and La Ventana al Mar, located in the Old Town. Attendees can look forward to a broad selection of tacos, prepared by skilled local chefs. Festival organizer, Trinidad Juarez, extends an invitation to locals, tourists, and residents of Quintana Roo's municipalities to join the festivities. She emphasized that the event will showcase the best of local gastronomy and culture, providing a great opportunity for family and friends to gather.
Festival-goers will also have the chance to explore more of Puerto Morelos and its culture at the “El Faro” Handicraft and Gastronomic Pavilion. Here, local artisans will display and sell their creations, including textiles, wood carvings, paintings, handmade jewelry, traditional sweets, and palm products. Garcia encouraged everyone not to miss this unique opportunity to experience the cultural and gastronomic richness of Puerto Morelos, a municipality that has gained international recognition.
