The port of Isla Mujeres is open for general navigation, and the second heatwave of the season is expected to hit the country this weekend. The Magic Town is predicted to experience temperatures close to 35°C. The forecast suggests clear to partly cloudy skies, with a 20% cloud cover, 77% relative humidity, and a very low chance of isolated rain showers.
Temperatures are expected to range from a low of 26°C to a high of 30°C, with a maximum heat sensation of 36°C. The ultraviolet radiation (UV) index is predicted to reach level 11, which is considered extreme. In light of the upcoming heatwave, it's advised to avoid outdoor exercise between 11:00 and 16:00, stay hydrated, and wear protective gear such as dark glasses, caps, hats, or umbrellas. Light-colored, long-sleeved clothing is recommended. Sunscreen should be applied frequently, especially for those who work outdoors or plan to swim.
The bay's forecast includes an east and east-southeast wind of 15 to 20 km/h, gusts of 26 to 32 km/h, and waves of 0.7 to 0.8 meters. For the coast of Quintana Roo, the wind is expected to come from the northeast-southeast at 15 to 20 km/h, with gusts of 28 to 37 km/h and waves of 0.9 to 1.5 meters.
The meteorological synopsis suggests that moisture from the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico will result in partly cloudy skies over the peninsular region, with a slight chance of isolated rain showers of 0.1 to 5 mm over some areas of the state. The daytime environment is expected to be very hot, with an east wind of 15 to 25 km/h and gusts of 35 to 45 km/h, primarily on the coasts of Quintana Roo.
An anticyclonic circulation at mid-atmospheric levels is set to bring the second heatwave starting this Friday over most of the country. In Quintana Roo, daytime maximum temperatures of 35°C to 40°C are forecasted, mainly in the municipalities of José María Morelos, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Lázaro Cárdenas, Benito Juárez, Isla Mujeres, and Cozumel.
