The inauguration ceremony was attended by Yucatán Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, who emphasized the state’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure while preserving cultural heritage. "This event underscores Yucatán’s role as a leader in innovative construction," he stated. "By fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, we can ensure sustainable development that benefits all communities."
CMIC Yucatán President Roberto Rivas echoed the sentiment, noting that the expo aligns with national efforts to address housing shortages and improve construction standards. "The solutions presented here will shape the future of our cities," he said.
Among the featured exhibitors is Cemex, which unveiled a new low-carbon concrete formula, and Vitromex, showcasing energy-efficient building materials. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) also play a prominent role, with many local firms demonstrating traditional techniques adapted for contemporary projects.
Early attendees praised the expo’s diversity of offerings. "The range of technologies here is impressive," said architect Lucía Fernández. "It’s inspiring to see how the industry is evolving to meet global demands."
The event runs through Saturday, with free admission for registered professionals and students. Organizers anticipate record-breaking participation, reinforcing Mérida’s reputation as a regional hub for construction innovation.
