9-Day Earth Festival in Playa del Carmen: Art, Culture & Nature

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The second edition of the Festival de la Tierra (Earth Festival) will honor Mother Earth over nine days in Playa del Carmen, featuring a diverse lineup of events from April 19 to 27. The festival coincides with Earth Day, observed globally on April 22.

A Collaborative Celebration of Art, Culture, and Ecology

During a press conference announcing the event, local artist Daniela Jáuregui revealed that more than 35 civil organizations dedicated to cultural, artistic, and environmental initiatives have joined forces for the celebration.

Attendees will have access to a map of "Puntos Verdes" (Green Points), designated venues hosting festival activities. QR codes placed on public transportation will allow residents and visitors to explore the full schedule, which includes:

  • Pictorial and photographic exhibitions
  • Concerts
  • Environmental workshops and discussions
  • Storytelling sessions
  • Guided nature walks

A promotional video for the festival featured the song "Sobre tus aguas" ("Upon Your Waters") by Luis Felipe Luna, a sonero and composer recognized by National Geographic Latin America as the creator of the best song about the Earth.
