The Mexican Caribbean experienced an average occupancy rate of 72.3% during the week of April 27 to May 3, welcoming a total of 457,651 visitors. There were noticeable variations in hotel occupancy across different destinations.
Costa Mujeres topped the list with an 81.1% occupancy rate, followed by Cancún at 76.2%, Tulum at 76%, Riviera Maya at 74.9%, Isla Mujeres at 70.3%, Puerto Morelos at 68.9%, Cozumel at 60.3%, and Costa Maya at 40.4%.
The majority of visitors hailed from the United States, accounting for 37.6% of the total. Mexican tourists made up 29.0%, while Canadians represented 15.4%. Visitors from other countries made up the remaining percentage.
These figures underscore the enduring appeal of Mexican Caribbean destinations for both domestic and international tourists, despite varying occupancy rates across different regions.
