In a coordinated operation, the State Attorney's Office, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), and the National Guard have successfully apprehended five individuals. These individuals are suspected of involvement in narcotics dealing, a crime against public health, in the municipalities of Tulum, Cozumel, and Puerto Morelos. Various substances resembling illegal drugs were also seized during the operation.
In Tulum, agents apprehended Carlos Armando "N" and Kevin "N" on the Cancun-Tulum highway. During a routine check, the two were found in possession of substances resembling marijuana, cocaine, and crack. Preliminary investigations suggest that these individuals are part of a criminal group causing unrest in the municipality.
In Puerto Morelos, officers from the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combatting Narcotics Dealing, working with Sedena, arrested José Alejandro "N" and Feliciando "N" on J. Zetina Gasca Avenue. These individuals are suspected of involvement in narcotics dealing, and were found in possession of substances resembling crystal meth and marijuana during a routine inspection. Early inquiries suggest that José Alejandro "N" is a member of a violent drug-trafficking gang operating in Puerto Morelos and Benito Juárez.
In Cozumel, officers working with the National Guard apprehended Guillermo "N" in the Chen Tuk neighborhood. During a routine check, substances resembling crystal meth, cocaine, and marijuana were found in his possession.
The detainees and the seized evidence have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor. The legal proceedings will follow according to the established legal term and the law.
