In Cozumel, a joint effort involving several companies providing financial aid, along with veterinarians and assistants volunteering their time, resulted in the sterilization of 280 dogs and cats over a two-day period. This initiative was carried out to control the growing population of stray and domestic animals on the island.

Laura de la Fuente, a representative from the civil association "Kan", stated that many locals brought in their pets for the procedure. However, she emphasized that there are still more animals that require sterilization.

She encouraged anyone interested in having their pets sterilized to visit the facilities and schedule an operation.
