The traditional Rancho Viejo Fair in Isla Mujeres was inaugurated with the crowning of the queen and the ambassador. This festive event, held in honor of the Virgin of Fatima, is a significant celebration that strengthens the identity and traditions of the residents of the Continental Zone of the municipality.
The Organizing Committee and municipal authorities crowned Reyna del Carmen Canché Hernández as the queen of the fair. They also cut the inaugural ribbon and toured the various stalls set up for the event.
The fair began with a lively performance by Juan Torres' Jaranera Orchestra, which added to the festive atmosphere of the traditional Yucatan fair, known as vaquería. Visitors also enjoyed a charlotada, a rodeo-style event, and a wide variety of typical Mexican dishes.
This year, the fair was relocated to the Ejidatarios Plaza, providing families with easier and safer access. The Rancho Viejo Fair will run until Sunday, May 19th. All island families are encouraged to participate and enjoy the various activities on offer.
