“Solidaridad’s Full Beach, Happy Heart Program to Aid Thousands”

The social initiative "Full Beach, Happy Heart" is designed to address inequality and decrease the moderate poverty rate affecting 33.1 percent of families in Solidaridad. This was announced by Estefanía Mercado, a candidate for the municipal presidency of Solidaridad from the “Let's Keep Making History in Quintana Roo” Coalition.

On a recent walk through the Pescadores II and Villas del Sol subdivisions, Mercado explained that the program will be launched on her first day in office. The initiative is part of a broader commitment to prioritizing the welfare of all, with a focus on families in vulnerable situations.

"Full Beach, Happy Heart" will be a cornerstone of Mercado's government, aiming to support the neediest families across the 85 neighborhoods and subdivisions of Playa del Carmen, and in the 20 localities of the municipality with food pantries.

Mercado plans to work closely with Claudia Sheinbaum, the next president of the country, and with the state government to achieve this. She also highlighted that the program will consider more than 111,000 female heads of households and working mothers, promising free childcare to them.

The funding for this initiative will come from the city council's own income from tax payments and from the revenue generated by the more than 8.4 million tourists who visit the Riviera Maya each year.

During her recent walks, Mercado was joined by Juan Carrillo Soberanis, a candidate for federal deputy, and Tepy Gutiérrez, a candidate for local deputy for district IX, along with members of her campaign team and supporters from Morena, the Green Party, and the Labor Party.
