“Uncover the Magic of Hungary in Cancun: Music, Food & Festivities Await!”

The fifteenth annual "Hungary in Cancun" Cultural Festival is set to take place at the University of the Caribbean (UniCaribe) on May 16 and 17. The festival will feature live concerts and a showcase of Hungarian cuisine.

The music program will present classical Hungarian compositions from renowned composers such as Liszt, Bartók, Ferenc Lehár, Ernő Dohnányi, Ferenc Farkas, and Ferenc Erkel. The performances will be delivered by distinguished Hungarian, Canadian, and Ukrainian musicians including Máté Szigeti on flute, Szigetiné Hiripi Anita and Sofia Lych on violin, Gordon Vanderwoude on viola, and Stacia Hedi on piano.

In addition to the musical performances, attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of Hungarian culinary delights. These will be prepared by the Gastronomy students and faculty of the University of the Caribbean.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of UniCaribe. The opening night will feature the "Hungarian Fantasy" concert and the gastronomic exhibition. The following evening, Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m., the "Hungarian Czardas" concert will be held in the Engineering Auditorium.

Notably, the Hungarian Ambassador to Mexico, Zoltán Németh, and the Honorary Consul of Hungary in Cancun, Roberto Díaz, are expected to attend the event.
