The Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres was filled with joy and celebration as the community gathered to honor the Virgin of Fátima. The festivities began early in the day with a lively horse parade, followed by a mass dedicated to the Virgin of Fátima.
After the mass, the community came together to enjoy a communal meal, with a large number of islanders participating. For the past 45 years, these festivities have been a significant part of the community's tradition, as the Virgin of Fátima is the patron saint of Rancho Viejo.
Every year, on the 13th of May, this celebration is held and concludes with a traditional meal enjoyed by all attendees. This event is one of the most significant in the municipality, as it not only strengthens local traditions, but also fosters a sense of identity and belonging among the residents of the Continental Zone. As a result, each year sees an increasing number of attendees joining in the celebrations.
