In a recent meeting held at a Puerto Aventuras hotel, the Security and Justice Board announced plans to install 57 new surveillance points in Solidaridad. These points, which are set to be operational from October, were discussed with members of the private sector.

The press conference was led by Raciel López Salazar, Attorney General of the State; Julio César Gómez Torres, State Secretary of Citizen Security, and José de la Peña Ruiz de Chávez, Coordinator of the Security Cabinet. They were joined by about 20 businessmen from Riviera Maya.

Gómez Torres highlighted that there will be progress in the installation of 108 cameras, creating 52 new surveillance points in Solidaridad. This is in addition to the ongoing integration of cameras from private companies through the "Guardianes 911" program. He assured that there is full coverage with the State Highway Police from Tulum to Cancún, and that the force in Solidaridad will be strengthened.

As part of the security measures, a new group named the Centurion Group was formed. This group, which is under the Special Prosecutor's Office for Kidnapping and Extortion, is tasked with combating extortion. They will hold weekly meetings with business groups, similar to the Orion Group which focuses on thefts.

The Attorney General, Raciel López, shared some achievements from his 10-month tenure in Solidaridad. These include the arrest of 79 criminals and the execution of 83 arrest warrants, resulting in a total of 161 people behind bars. Among these, 103 were arrested for high-impact crimes. This includes 49 members of seven criminal groups and six human traffickers, totaling 55 high-priority detainees.

The Prosecutor's Office released a statement detailing that at the meeting with businessmen, it was agreed to design and implement strategies with a higher degree of intervention. Additionally, judicial procedures were analyzed to ensure effective inter-institutional coordination, aiming to ensure criminals face justice effectively.
