Two suspects, one of whom is a minor, have been arrested by the police on suspicion of drug-related offenses. The suspects, identified as Sureyma “N” and 17-year-old M.R.P.P., were apprehended by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security during routine surveillance operations.
The officers noticed the suspects exchanging a transparent plastic package containing a green, dry herb, which appeared to be marijuana. The arrest took place on an unnamed street in the La Veleta neighborhood of the Tulum municipality.
Upon apprehension, a thorough search was conducted. The suspects were found in possession of various illicit substances and items. These included three transparent plastic packages, each measuring approximately 20 cm by 20 cm, filled with a green, dried herb resembling marijuana.
They also had 30 small transparent plastic bags containing the same suspected narcotic, 20 small transparent plastic bags with clear solid fragments that looked like crystal meth, and 20 small transparent plastic bags with a white powder similar to cocaine.
In addition, the suspects had 15 pills of different colors, similar to the drug ecstasy, a 9-cm strip of cardboard resembling LSD, two cell phones – a blue Motorola and a blue ZTE, and two bags – one red and one multicolored.
The female suspect, Sureyma “N”, was transferred to the State Attorney's Office in Tulum for processing. The minor, M.R.P.P., was taken to the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation of Crimes Committed by Adolescents.
