Officers from the Ministry of Citizen Security in Cancún successfully rescued seven individuals who were being held captive. The operation took place in an unnamed neighborhood of the city.

On the evening of the incident, police were called to a gas station on José López Portillo Avenue. A group of foreign individuals, who had reportedly escaped their captors, had arrived there seeking help.

The Public Security Secretariat reported that six of the rescued individuals are Brazilian, and one is Mexican. They were being held in a safe house in the Dunamis neighborhood, but no further details were provided.

Four of the victims were treated by private company paramedics and transported to the General Hospital under police supervision. They were suffering from severe dehydration, and one had multiple bruises.

The remaining victims were taken to the State Attorney General's Office to provide their statements. This suggests that further police operations may be carried out in the near future.
