The Employers Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX), located in Merida, recently hosted a debate for candidates vying for the governorship of Yucatan. The event, which was held privately, focused on issues pertinent to the local business community. Following the debate, the candidates expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to present their proposals in response to the concerns raised by the business leaders.

Huacho Diaz Mena, the candidate representing the Morena-PT-PVEM alliance, highlighted that the primary topic of the debate was economic development and the implementation of significant projects crucial for Yucatan's economic growth. "This is a key component of our Maya Renaissance project, which includes large-scale projects that have been stalled for years due to the high level of investment needed," Diaz Mena explained.

Renan Barrera Concha, the candidate from the PAN-PRI-New Alliance, also expressed his satisfaction with the debate. He noted that it provided a platform to compare ideas and proposals. "The event was marked by civility and contrast. Debates like this are an excellent opportunity for me to discuss my work, achievements, and to demonstrate that I can fulfill my promises. This is a powerful form of validation," he said.

Vida Gomez, the candidate for the Citizen's Movement Party, began her remarks by offering condolences to the victims of an accident at a party rally in San Pedro Garza, Nuevo Leon. She then outlined that the main areas to focus on for Yucatan's success are water, energy, security, and well-paid jobs.
