“Shocking: Residents Alarmed by Contaminated Water Crisis in North Zone!”

A float valve in a water tank partially submerged, controlling the water level as water flows around it.

Residents in the North Zone have voiced concerns about the quality of water supplied by Desarrollos Hidráulicos de Cancún S. A. de C.V., commonly known as Aguakan. They claim that the water is contaminated.

People living in the Villas Morelos 1 neighborhood, in the municipality of Puerto Morelos, have reported that since Tuesday, May 21, the water provided by Aguakan has been dirty and black in color, resembling sewage water.

Due to this ongoing issue, residents have had to stop the water flow to their tanks and hire plumbers to clean their pipes and tanks. The contaminated water poses a significant health risk.

The situation has been further complicated by a recent heatwave in the area. Residents have had to rent tanks to ensure they have access to water, leading to unexpected expenses.

Despite notifying Aguakan about the water supply issues from the first day, residents say the company has not responded or taken action to rectify the situation.
