High-Speed Police Chase: Six Foreigners Arrested in Playa del Carmen chaos!

A black SUV with significant damage to the front passenger side, parked on the side of the road with debris on the ground and a motorcycle in the background.

A high-speed police pursuit on Federal Highway 307, along the Tulum-Playa del Carmen stretch, ended with the arrest of six individuals believed to be of foreign nationality. The chase also resulted in damage to two municipal police patrol cars, although no injuries were reported.

The chase began when a sealed, Durango-style van failed to stop at a security checkpoint just south of Tulum. Ignoring the police's signals, the van sped off, leading to a pursuit that ended in Playa del Carmen.

In the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood, near the municipal cemetery, the van was intercepted by two municipal patrol cars. The van collided with the patrol cars before finally coming to a halt several meters ahead. The area was quickly surrounded by motorcycle police officers.

The authorities have yet to release further details about the arrest of the six individuals. They are currently in the custody of the Public Ministry.
