A tourist van driver in Cancun was arrested this morning after colliding with a metal structure protecting a CFE transformer. The incident occurred at the intersection of 11th South Avenue and 85th Street, in the Ejido neighborhood of the city.
The driver, who was operating a van with license number E-184 from the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" Taxi Union, was navigating 11th South Avenue. As he turned onto 85th Street, he misjudged the distance between his van and the protective structure.
The impact severely damaged the right front side of the van, which eventually came to a halt several meters away.
Local police arrived at the scene and arrested the driver. The damaged van was subsequently towed to the impound lot for further investigation and to determine responsibilities.
